Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player secured his initial trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This represents his first championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from that period of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching approach and regular reactions on court had led observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
Moutet defended four initial opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
